Who we are

This website is run by Marcus Cribb, trading as Marcus Cribb History (“we”, “us”). We are the controller of the personal information you give us through this site. You can contact us about privacy using the contact form.

What we collect

How we use it and our lawful basis

We do not sell your information and we do not use it for automated decision making.

Who we share it with

We use a small number of service providers to run the site and manage enquiries: our website host (Vercel) and our customer relationship and email system. They process data on our instructions. Some providers may store data outside the UK; where they do, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or adequacy regulations.

Videos on this site are provided by YouTube. Video preview images are loaded from YouTube's image servers, but the video player itself only loads when you choose to play a video, and we use YouTube's privacy enhanced (no cookie) mode.

Cookies

This site does not set advertising or analytics cookies. If that changes we will update this notice and ask for your consent where required.

How long we keep it

Newsletter details are kept until you unsubscribe. Enquiries and tour interest registrations are kept for up to two years after our last contact with you, unless you book a tour, in which case booking records are kept for as long as needed for legal and accounting purposes (normally six years).

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to access, correct or delete your personal information, to object to or restrict its use, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. To use any of these rights, please contact us.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk, although we would appreciate the chance to put things right first.
